Sara Adams was raised in the small town of Fitzgerald, GA. She constantly emerged herself in anything creative to occupy her. It was the people around her that gave her the biggest inspiration. They were simple by all appearances just like the town in which she lived. This made her take interest in looking a little closer at what makes us who we are.
She continued her research and passion for the arts by completing her BFA at Georgia Southern University in two dimensional studio design and a minor in creative writing. In this time Sara was focused on discovering what her art meant to her and what she wanted her art to say. After a few tough years, a breakthrough occurred. Go back to the beginning and keep it simple.
Sara does not limit herself on materials, diving into pencils, paint, pastels, and paper. With a focus on simplistic backgrounds, she works to have the viewer’s interest immediately and to pull them in. She often includes observational subject matter as a way to tell the story, with an illustrative touch. Her work has been seen in the Averitt Center for the Arts in Statesboro, GA, Georgia Southern’s Center of Art and Theater, Fall 2013/Spring 2014 Issues of Miscellany, Suffering Artist Gallery in Hogansville, GA, and The Carnegie Center in Fitzgerald, GA.
